Those last few steps

Always those last few steps...
Nearly everybody knows that point, when you are heading up a steep way towards your goal, but your body aches in pain, your feet are tired, sweet runs into your shoes, and still, there is a pretty long way to go. So, if you have ever been there at this point and place in time, I am quite sure your brain will process the following three options:

  • Sit down, wait until it is all over. Not very advice able and no option to use. Never.
  • Turn around, head back down where you just came from and tell everyone how great it was to be on the top. If you are too tired, too exhausted, just do it, before it gets to dangerous and you hurt yourself.
  • Or, just bite through. Get the mental power and overcome your body, head to your goal and feel the satisfaction for achieving something. Maybe the endorphin rush in your head overcomes the need for a small breakdown.
My personal way to get over those frustrating low point is music. Plug in the earphones, choose the right tunes and head on. At the moment, an old revised personal classic does it's duties: The 1993 released album Chaos A.D by a band called Sepultura. Somehow the rhythm of the drums, mixed with the heavy guitars just provide that kick I need in those demotivated moments. Best results are given by the first three songs Refuse/Resist, Territory and Slave New World, well three great songs, but somehow Territory made on my number one spot.

So at the end, one question, anyone some better suggestions? Feel free to leave a comment.
