Finally, heading upwards, for a long long time...

One last view on the Erzherzog Leopold Klause.
After spending quite some time at the Erzherzog Johann Klause, taking a lot of pictures (most of them were scraped...), eating something and just looking at the thing in the middle of the nowhere it was time to head on for long, long time on a pretty boring standard forest way: Just two rows of trees to the left and the right and string of blue cloudy sky in the middle. Every distortion was welcomed...

Heavy equipment parked alongside the way.
And the first one, was the heavy logging equipment on the above picture. Have never seen anything like that outside of my TV screen. But, the goal wasn't reached, so on I went on,...

A road between two rows of tress, it went...
...on and on. The general look and feel of the track i headed a long. Not a bit difference between the above and down picture, except: A few kilometers of walking. It all got boring, really boring! Wished I was back in an earlier phase of that day trip, there or there.

And on for at least on eternity.
It was a little dark hole in some rocks on the side of the way that woke up my fantasy: A treasure cave? No, after closer look, nothing inside. Not even a deep cave. Just a few meters in everything ended...

The occasional hole. No, no treasure inside. Checked it out.
So then, finally came the point were the whole scenery opened up: I was high enough up that the forest changed into pastures, and there was far more to see than just a tree, another tree, a rock and the next row of trees. Really had enough of those green tall things on that day.

Nearing the goal, pasture, mountains and views. Got really sick of trees...
So I hiked on, surrounded by alpine meadows with hardly any grass on it (to early in the year) towards the Ackernalm, where excellent food is served (was told so by someone I met on the way there, looked like a trustworthy person to me). The Ackernalm was also the highest elevetated point on the whole trip, with the above  view over to the Kaisertal and the surrounding Kaisergebirge (wasn't the best weather for taking pictures on that day).

View from the Ackernalm towards the Kaisergebirge.
And then, it came what hat to come: The great decline. Heading back down to the next bus stop in the middle of the nearest village, Landl. Took the fastest way there, a concrete road, but due being a weekday and off season, there was nearly no traffic at all. And finally after about 25 kilometers of walking I reached my final destination, sat on a bench, looked around and waited for the next bus to pick me up.

The final goal of the hike, Landl (cleaning lenses is for losers...).
And in the end, a short conclusion: The hike was worth it's time. The last part was a bit boring, but combined with a night at the Erzherzog Johann Klause (there is a inn, sort of) and the possibility to hike some more interesting, but longer paths it is something worth your time.
